Castle Hedingham- Highway issues

Station Road bridge repair and drain jetting across the whole village were raised with County Councillor Peter Schwier, who has now been able to forward this response from Essex Highways:
STATION ROAD BRIDGE
Following a site visit, multiple defects including large areas of missing masonry and cracks to the arches were found. One of the larger areas of missing masonry was on south east side of the bridge.
Plans to undertake repair proposals to the structure are currently ongoing. Before repairs can be undertaken the below requirements need to be fulfilled and permits obtained.
Heritage Requirements: Station Road Bridge is classified as a Grade II listed building. Due to this, a Listed Building Application must be approved before repairs are undertaken. Currently, the application has been submitted and is in the public consultation stage.
Ecological Requirements: Prior to undertaking the repairs, multiple ecological surveys need to be undertaken to ensure there is no disturbance to potential protected species in the area.
Once these permits are in place we will advise on a date for repairs. Please note we have already appointed a specialist contractor to carry out these works.
Once the repair works are completed, the temporary measures will be removed including the traffic signals.
DRAIN JETTING
With regards to the drainage problems, these sites have been programmed in for jetting and investigating 10th January 25
