‘The Structures team have advised that repair works are programmed to be undertaken in August this year. The works required consent from the Environment Agency to work in the river and Natural England for listed building consent; both have now been approved.
Before the team start work, they are required to carry out checks for bats as the brick arches can be their habitat. The ecologists will undertake these checks from today (1 May) and once these are complete repairs can start.
On completion of the works the temporary traffic lights will be removed.
In the meantime, we thank residents for their patience while these preparations take place.’
